Here Comes Spring! Time To Clean!

Finally, some light at the end of the forever Winter tunnel! Remember, we have been living in our homes all Winter with the windows shut, heat source or wood stove going full blast, no fresh air coming in the house. Now we can begin to see where the dust bunnies have been nesting, and we want to get them to move on! Spring is coming!

Spring clean your closet!

You have worn all of your warm cozy baggy jeans, sweaters, and sweats. It is time to wash them and put them away and think about shorts, flip-flops, and t-shirts. Furthermore, since you will be sorting and packing your Winter wardrobe anyway, why not do a really good sort of things that are just too faded, maybe don’t fit like they should, or are generally “tired”. Now is the perfect time to reassess your Winter wardrobe and discard all those pieces that you would NEVER wear to visit Mom, and make room for some fun new additions that you find . If you haven’t worn it all Winter, donate it!

Organize the rest!

Make some sense of your home and the items in it. Go through your home room by room, and take a good hard look at the things you decorate with. Perhaps you don’t love that dried flower arrangement that you purchased for your first apartment? In addition, are you still displaying that less than beautiful vase that you received as a wedding gift years and years ago, have never liked, but have been afraid to part with? Why not now? If you have decorative items that you no longer like, use or want and they are in good condition, why not donate them to one of the many charitable organizations that abound in our wasteful society? Let someone else get enjoyment out of that item that you no longer love. In conclusion, it is tax-deductible, and you will feel so much better if you just let it go!
