What Else Can We Clean This Spring?

We have been discussing Spring cleaning. We were thinking about starting in the garden this week, but one look outside has dissuaded us. So, what’s next to clean inside the house? We have kept up with the vacuuming and dusting. We have already discussed de-cluttering and parting with those decorative items that we no longer love. What else is there?

Lets clean the living room curtains!

Most of us have curtains in our living rooms. They give privacy, keep out drafts in Winter, keep out sun in Summer, maybe they add some design style to the room. Once in a while curtains and drapes need to be cleaned. We don’t think about the dust accumulation on our curtains, we think dust only falls on horizontal surfaces, until we washed our own curtains. If you were really thinking before deciding on those expensive “dry clean only” drapes and opted for the more affordable and user-friendly washing machine safe ones, this should be easy-peasy. Perhaps you can get away with steam cleaning them. If they are washable, you can just take the curtains down and wash them, following the instructions on that tag. If you are very lucky, you can hang them back right from the dryer or clothes line. However, they may need a touch-up with your iron. You know, that thing your Mom used to press your Dad’s underwear and the bed sheets, but YOU CAN DO IT! Just like the washing instructions, your curtains will have ironing instructions on that pesky tag we mentioned earlier. Follow those instructions, and your living room will amaze you! What a difference!
